Southeastern Serbia represents a geographic space south of the river Nishava, east of the river Juzna Morava, and close to the borders of Bulgaria and Macedonia. It contains the munipacities of Surdulica, Babusnica, Vlasotince, Crna Trava, Bosilegrad, Trgoviste and Vladicin Han.
Traditional Serbian dress from this area is characterized by a Litak, a long hand-woven dress. A Litak is a traditional black woolen over garmet woven and decorated by woman and girls in Crna Trava. Women adorn their Litak with gold and girls with silver treads and glitter. Underneath the Litak is a white, hand-woven dress, knitted socks and opanci leather shoes. She alse wears a decorated head scarf with flowers.
